CRAPPIE SNIPER GUIDE SERVICE

Armando Salas created Crappie Sniper Guide Service in 2021 in order to share with others his unbridled passion for fishing, especially Crappie fishing. Armando treats his guests as he would want to be treated and served. Prior to the start of his guide trips, Armando encourages his guests to relax and think of him as a lifelong friend who is taking them on a fun outdoor reunion, rather than thinking of him as guiding them in a competitive and stressful environment. The laid back atmosphere helps guests to feel right at home, not worry about the one that got away, be patient with themselves in learning to be better at fishing, and truly soak in the special experience with nature’s bounty. And this friendly and no-pressure approach most often results in greater success for the guests than approaching the outing as a do-or-die competition.

Crappie Sniper primarily focuses on a handful of well known lakes in the DFW area: Lewisville, Lavon, Ray Hubbard, Joe Pool and Ray Roberts. These lakes have prime Crappie populations and habitat, and produce very large fish. And we’d like to have you get to know them up close and personal!

We offer boat trips using our stable and well equipped 19.5′ bay boat which will handle two or even three guests comfortably. Our boat uses Garmin Panoptix Livescope to hunt down the Crappie. More information on our trips, watercraft, equipment and lakes can be found on our Trips page and in our Frequently Asked Questions document.

We invite you to book a guided fishing trip with Crappie Sniper Guide Service so your smile and Crappie haul may also adorn the pages of this website. And also take a look at the Crappie Sniper Facebook page and Crappie Sniper Instagram page for more interesting photos, info and fun!

ARMANDO SALAS, GUIDE

Armando was born and raised in Dallas and  started fishing at the age of 7.  He spent his youth learning how to fish from his dad by seeking out catfish from the shore of ponds and creeks.  He learned the nuances of bank fishing since a boat was not available.  When he got his first boat at the age of about 20, he then had the opportunity to hunt down white bass, black bass and other species in the lakes around Dallas.  About that time, a friend took him Crappie fishing for the first time and Armando was hooked.  Crappie became his passion and primary fishing target.  He developed and honed his skills in finding Crappie under various weather and water conditions and during various seasons.

Since Dallas is his lifetime home, the lakes closest to Dallas are his home waters and he knows them well. As an amateur, Armando took along many different people on his fishing trips (at no charge) and showed them, by example, how to successfully catch slab Crappie.  Having had tremendous success at catching sizable Crappie in DFW area lakes and posting photos of his eye-popping catches on social media, he began to receive unsolicited inquiries and requests for guiding services.  So Armando took the plunge in 2021 and Crappie Sniper Guide Service was born. And being bilingual, Armando is able to interact with a wider variety of anglers than many other local guides.

Armando has a passion for helping his guests become better fishermen by passing on the many keys, tips and tricks he has learned over a lifetime of fishing the DFW area lakes, especially demonstrating productive lure presentations. His greatest joy in the sport of fishing is watching a guest on his boat land a huge fish.  You might think of it in terms of Christmas.  Being a kid on Christmas morning is joyful but even more thrilling is being the parent seeing and experiencing the Christmas joy in their child’s eyes.  That is Armando… he wants to see the joy in his guests eyes. To that end, he wants to share his knowledge with you and hopes you will give Crappie Sniper Guide Service a try. In doing so, perhaps you might even enjoy the most exciting, fun and productive Crappie fishing experience of your life.
